Final 4 Betting Picks & Predictions

The 2011 March Madness is coming to an end.  The Final Four is all set and ready to be played in Houston, Texas this year.  The “four” teams in this years Final 4 are Connecticut, Kentucky, VCU and Butler.  Let’s take a look at the two games and see if we can give you a few winners for these games.

Kentucky vs. Connecticut

Kemba Walker may very well be the National Player of the Year for the Connecticut Huskies.  He has led this team to an unbelievable final month.  They just sailed through the Big East tournament winning like 5 games in 5 days against great opponents.  Then, everyone said they would run out of gas in the NCAA Tournament.  They got the #3 seed behind Duke and San Diego St. only to outlast them both and make it to the Final 4.  Kemba Walker is their leading scorer and absolutely has been clutch in the 2011 postseason.

The Kentucky Wildcats are a young and talented team.  They were seeded #4 in arguably the toughest region in this years tournament.  They surprised everyone by beating West Virginia, Ohio State and North Carolina to make their way to the Final 4.  Led by freshman Brandon Knight – the Wildcats have rebounded from losing 5 players to the first round of the NBA draft.  Players have stepped up such as Center Josh Harrellson.  He has been a force in this years tournament and could be a ton for the Huskies to handle.  John Calipari leads the Kentucky Wildcats and hopes to win his first championship as a part of the Kentucky Wildcats.

The odds on this game started with Kentucky as -1 point favorites. Now, the Wildcats sit at -2.5 favorites.  We like Kentucky to beat the Huskies in this game.  Knight and Harrellson are just too much.   If Kemba Walker can be contained AT ALL, Kentucky should win.  Our pick is for Kentucky -2.5 in this one.

VCU vs. Butler

VCU comes into the Final Four as a #11 seed.  Yes, a #11 seed.  In fact, they were part of the First Four play-in game just to get into the tournament.  They have pulled upset after upset including beating Kansas in the Elite 8.  VCU is explosive on offense and has the athletes to play with anyone.  They cause turnovers and shoot a lot of threes.  They have what it takes to win this game and make it to the National Championship for sure.

The Butler Bulldogs just know how to win in the tournament.  They had a less than stellar regular season but now sit in the Final Four for the 2nd straight year.  They are methodical on offense and play great defense.  They should be able to control the tempo against VCU.

This is probably one of the most shocking Final 4 matchups ever.  VCU is the underdog once again and Butler is -2.5 favorites.  We are riding the VCU Rams train and betting on VCU +2.5 in this Final 4 game.
