Betting Line on Daytona 500 NASCAR – Expert Pick

February 19th, 2011 Knup Posted in Nascar No Comments »

The Daytona 500 is the granddaddy of all races. Instead of waiting for the best to be at the end of the season, they scheduled this first of the 36 races they schedule. This is the 53rd of the Daytona 500 and it will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The defending champion from 2010 is Jamie McMurray. Let’s preview the drivers for this event and then check the odds from here.

The best odds for the race drivers have been given to Kevin Harvick at 8/1. He placed second in 2009 and this year he starts from the seventh spot. Coming in at 9/1 is Dale Earnhardt Jr.in the 10th year anniversary of the death of his father at this same track. He did win this event in 2004.

Kyle Busch has never fared well in this event but he can race aggressively and is not out of a race until his car stops. He has 9/1 odds to win in 2011. Tony Stewart, one of the most successful drivers is 10/1 odds and placed 22nd last year. Also at 10/1 is Kurt Busch who had his best finish in 2008 at second place.
Jeff Gordon, a three time winner, is listed at 11/1 odds . He has had a dry spell and has not won a Sprint Cup Race in a year and a half. Defending champ, Jamie McMurray is 12/1 to win this again. He was the winner last year of the Brickyard 400.

Winner of the Daytona 500: Jimmie Johnson
He has the car, a Chevy, which has won many of the races recently. He has the team in Hendrick Motor Sports and he has Jeff Gordon as his team mate. These reasons give us our free pick of Jimmie Johnson at 7/1 as your best bet.

If you are looking at a longshot for this event, consider riding with Kasey Kahne at 35/1. Winning this bet makes a good return on your investment.

Next up on the NASCAR auto racing schedule is LENOX Industrial Tools 301, taking place June 27, 2010 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 is sometimes fondly referred to as “The Race to the Chase”. The race also carries the tag, “The Extra Mile” in mistakenly worded reference to that last 301st lap of the 318.458 mile race.

The track at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH is an oval track covering a 1.04 mile distance. In addition to hosting the LENOX Industrial Tools 301, the New Hampshire Motor Speedway also hosting the NASCAR Sylvania 300 (also of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), the New England 200 (of the NASCAR Nationwide Series), the New Hampshire 200 (of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series), and the Loudon Classic motorcycle race.

In the 2009 LENOX Industrial Tools 301, Tony Stewart came out the Pole Winner, even though Joey Logano, driving for Toyota, won the race, which lasted 2 hrs, 57 mins, and 45 sec., with an average speed of 97.497 miles per hour. Stewart (’05) won this race back in 2005, driving for Chevrolet, when it was still called the New Englad 300. Kurt Busch (’08) and Kyle Busch (’06) have both won this race in recent years, the former driving for Dodge and the latter for Chevrolet, as has Denny Hamlin (’07), also for Chevrolet.

The green flag flies on the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at precisely 1 pm.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Weekend: June 11 – 13

June 14th, 2010 Sportsbook Promo Code Staff Posted in Nascar No Comments »

This weekend sees several big NASCAR events taking place, headlined by Sunday’s Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race.

The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 is one of the two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races that take place at the Michigan International Speedway (the second one is the 3M Performance 400, later in the season). This is the first year that Heluva Good! Sour Cream is sponsoring this race, formerly known as the LifeLock 400 and before that the Citizens Bank 400.

What remains consistent about this race, regardless of sponsor, is that since 1999 it’s been held on the 2 mile track at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan and has a race length of 400 miles. This is the 15th race out of 36 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. This year the green flag flies at 1:16 pm EDT on June 13.

Last year’s winner was Mark Martin driving for Chevrolet, which also won the year prior, thanks to driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Chevrolet has won this race 11 times, second only to Ford, which has won the race 15 times.

This year’s drivers to watch include Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Burton.

Also running this coming weekend is the Racing for Wildlife 200 ARCA Racing Series on Friday, June 11, at 5:15 p.m., just following Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 qualifying race, and the VFW 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Sunday, June 12.

NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup 2010 Double Header Schedule

June 4th, 2010 Sportsbook Promo Code Staff Posted in Nascar No Comments »

NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup 2010The NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup 0f 2010 has a double header on Mother’s Day weekend (May 7 – 8, 2010) with the Showtime Southern 500, and the Royal Purple 200.

After the NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup pre-race Car Hauler Parade (from the Florence Civic Center to the Darlington Square) Thursday night, May 6th, the action will begin on May 7th at the track that’s Too Touch To Tame.

2010 NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup Schedule

Here’s how the 2010 NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup Schedule will go down:

After a day full of practice and qualifying rounds, the first big race of the weekend will be the NASCAR Nationwide Series Royal Purple 200, consisting of 147 laps around the track, totalling 200.8 miles.

  • In the past two years of this race, the track had to be extended at the last minute due to a green white checker finish, first in 2008 with Tony Stewart prevailing and then last year with Matt Kenseth edging out that win. Prior to that, both the 2007 and 2006 Royal Purple 200 winner was Denny Hamlin.

The following evening, the Johnny Mantz SHOWTIME Southern 500 trophy will be contested once again at the SHOWTIME Southern 500, this time 367 laps around the track for a total 501.322 mile race course.

  • The reigning champion in this race is Mark Martin, who’s become quite a familiar face in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winners circle, after winning the Royal Purple 200 in 1994 and ’96, and most recently in 2000.

Drivers that are looking sharp for the NASCAR Racing Sprint Cup Races are Jimmie Johnson, the active leader at Darlington, though he has failed to win there since ’04, Jeff Gordon, the active wins leader there, and any of the Childress crew of Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, and Jeff Burton, the latter of which has 2 wins already on this track in his career.
